Like many artists, I came to the art supply store pretty late in life. For more than forty years, I’ve written for numerous newspapers and magazines about topics that are close to my heart and—this may come as a surprise—there are plenty of stories I’ve written that have nothing to do with art. Mostly they’re simply about amazing people driven to do good with their talents and strong moral compass.

But if you are interested in art, please do browse through the Muckrack link here. There’s a strong Jewish and Israeli focus on the arts, as I’m living in Haifa now. Some of my favorite artists and art-related interviews are here—with Israeli national treasure, Baruch Nachson, with Stav Appel, the creator of the Torah in the Tarot deck, with Guillaume Levy-Lambert, who writes about a painting and his own brush with divine providence, with Helen Bar-Lev, an artist and poet who had lived so close to the northern border she could see her Lebanese neighbors work their fields.
